Central air conditioning is the most expensive cooling/heating resort out there. Not only the machine itself is expensive but the installation can cost you a large sum of money. Depending on your area, your total cost can easily reach $15,000 and that’s for a residential installation. The price aside, if you plan on purchasing a central air conditioner make sure you spend that extra couple of hundred dollars and get it Energy Star Approved because let’s not forget heating and cooling are nearly half a homes energy bill and a central unit is not so easily replaced or removed.
